Terms for job seekers

Last updated: June 2026

The plain-English version of how we work together. No small print traps — just what you can expect from us, and what we ask from you.

1. Who we are and what we do

Foot in the Door Farnham (the trading name of [Your Name], a sole trader in Farnham, Surrey) is a recruitment agency. We get to know you and introduce you to local employers for permanent and temporary roles. If you're offered a job, you'd be employed directly by that employer — not by us.

2. It's free — always

We will never charge you to find you work. That's not just our promise — it's the law. There are no fees, no catches, and no deductions from your pay.

3. What we'll do for you

We'll always do our best, but we can't guarantee you a job — that decision sits with the employer.

4. What we ask of you

5. Putting you forward

We'll only share your details with an employer when you're happy for us to. You're free to say no to any role, and you're never under any obligation to take a job we suggest.

6. If you're under 18

If you're 16 or 17, we'll need a parent or guardian's consent before we can help you, and we'll keep them in the loop. We don't work with under-16s.

7. Your information

We look after your personal information carefully and only use it to help you find work. Our privacy notice explains exactly how.

8. The bits we have to say

Any job offer, contract, pay and working conditions are between you and the employer — we're the introduction, not your employer, so we're not responsible for those. We're also not liable for any loss that comes from using our service, except where the law doesn't allow us to exclude it. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales.

9. Stopping

You can stop using our service and ask us to delete your details at any time — just email hello@footinthedoor.work. We may update these terms now and then; the date at the top shows when we last did.
